Stainless Steel Pipework Installation for Electronic Waste Disposal System

Project Overview

Supporting New Processing Equipment

The Land Department installed new stainless steel pipework to support an electronic waste disposal machine.

The project formed part of the customer’s investment in new processing equipment. As a result, the site required a reliable water supply connection for the new machine. To meet this requirement, the team installed a new 316 stainless steel crimped pipework system. The work also included modifications to the existing pumping and holding tank arrangements.

Time-Critical Delivery

The customer required the work to be completed within a one-week programme. Therefore, careful planning and efficient installation methods were essential. The team selected a crimped pipework solution to help meet these requirements.

Project Objective

Reliable Water Supply Connection

The main objective was to provide a new water supply system for the electronic waste disposal machine. The installation needed to connect the existing holding tanks, pumping system and new equipment. In addition, the completed system needed to operate reliably within the customer’s process.

Efficient Installation

The project also aimed to reduce installation time. By using a stainless steel crimped pipework system, the team completed the work quickly and efficiently. Consequently, disruption to the customer’s operations remained to a minimum.

System Integration

Finally, the new pipework needed to integrate with the existing infrastructure. This ensured the new equipment could be commissioned without extensive modifications to the site’s existing services.

Project Detail

Stainless Steel Pipework Installation

The team installed a new 316 stainless steel crimped pipework system. The installation included pipe sizes ranging from 2-inch to 1-inch diameter. This provided the required flow rates throughout the system.

Pump and Tank Connections

The team reconnected the existing pump and installed new pipework between the holding tanks and the machinery. As a result, the new equipment integrated seamlessly with the customer’s existing process infrastructure.

Complex Pipe Routing

The installation required approximately 30 pipe fittings. Careful planning helped the team achieve the required route while maintaining accessibility for future maintenance activities. Furthermore, the routing allowed the system to fit within the available installation space.

Working at Height

Some sections of the installation required work at height. Therefore, the team used suitable access equipment to safely reach the work area. This approach allowed the installation to progress efficiently while maintaining site safety standards.

Fast-Track Installation Method

The crimped pipework system offered a faster installation method than traditional fabrication techniques. Consequently, the team reduced installation time and minimised disruption to the customer. At the same time, they maintained a high standard of workmanship throughout the project.
